The Communications & Marketing Director works with the CEO and staff to execute and assist with all internal and external communications. They will write, edit, and manage the production of a full range of print and digital material to effectively achieve the strategic objectives and mission for the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce. They will work to maintain and enhance the positive image of the chamber through communications and marketing.
They will be tasked with all chamber outreach and member communications. They will schedule all social media, digital media planning, PR posts and will deliver creative content for the digital platforms. This position must stay in front of trending social media and technology updates as they pertain to integration with communications strategies. They are to be responsible for overseeing web content, including making updates and maintaining a fresh look. They will be responsible for all printed media including: flyers, brochures, poster and booklets. This position acts as the Public Information Officer for all Chamber of Commerce related events and is the liaison to community media, crisis and other relevant communications groups.
Duties – Included but not limited to:
Create and implement marketing plans for chamber and its events
Website design and updates
Ensure the chamber is properly branded to the public
Weekly E Newsletters for members
Media relations, releases, and monitoring
Social Media Post and Response: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
Monitoring Chamber Facebook group
Management of Calendar of Events
Management of Office calendar
Coordinates all Chamber Committee Meeting communications
Creating flyers, posters, and any printed media
Creating membership information guides: including basic membership information and committee information
Creating a quarterly magazine publication
Creating video marketing
Keeping up with new marketing technologies, researching and bringing new ideas
Setting up audio visual presentations for events
Take photos at events
Digital photo and video collection and sharing
Printing all materials in-house
Assist with daily offices duties
Help at events
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:
Highly organized, pro-active and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task, work independently, adapt to change, and attentive to detail.
Video Filming/Production experience helpful
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, In Design, Photoshop, Canvas and HTML preferred
Photography Skills/ Equipment helpful
Champion of social media tools and technologies.
Strong written communication skills
Project management skills, strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Some physical activity required
Evening and weekend hours might be required
2 years of marketing experience preferred.
